Pascúng Máyap Ning Dispû
PASCÚNG MÁYAP NING DISPÛ!!!”
It is the traditional Kapampángan Christmas greeting. It was derived from " Máyap a Pascúng Quebaítan ning Dios Pû (“May the Blessing of God's Paschal Birth be Upon You”).
Iti ya ing aldo Y Cristo mibait ya; ngening aldo iti ing Talapagligtas tamu pepakit ya; ngening aldo iti ding sablang angeles king banua magcanta la keti king yatu, ding arcangel magsaya la. Ngening aldo iti, carapat-dapat at matulid tamung magsaya at sasabing; Ligaya king Dios king Pecamatas a Banua! Alleluia!
Kapampángan Catholics observe two PASCU (Paschal Celebrations):
•"Pascúng Quebaítan" (Paschal Birth of God or Christmas)
• "Pascung Pángasublîng Mébie" (Paschal Resurrection or Easter).
Kapampangans now simply greet each other: “MALIGÁYANG PASCU AT MASAPLÁLÂNG BÁYUNG BANUA!!!” for “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
